As the pandemic keeps evolving, regulations keep shifting, too. This page describes some of what you need to know, including COVID-related steps after you arrive.

Important updates for travelling to Canada

This information was last updated on April 9, 2022. Travel restrictions, resting and quarantine requirements may change without notice.

March 17Government of Canada will remove pre-entry test requirement for fully vaccinated travellers on April 1

Effective April 1, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers will no longer need to provide a pre-entry COVID-19 test result to enter Canada by air, land or water. Fully vaccinated travellers seeking to arrive in Canada before April 1, 2022, must still have a valid pre-entry test.

February 15Government of Canada lightens border measures as part of transition of the pandemic response

As of February 28, 2022

  • Travellers arriving to Canada from any country, who qualify as fully vaccinated, may be randomly selected for arrival testing. If selected, travellers will not be required to quarantine while awaiting their test result.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers will now have the option of using a COVID-19 rapid antigen test result (taken the day prior to their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border or marine port of entry) or a molecular test result (taken no more than 72 hours before their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border or marine port of entry) to meet pre-entry requirements.

Before you travel to Canada

1. Ensure that you are fully vaccinated.
2. Develop a quarantine plan before you travel.
3. Use the ArriveCAN app to submit your travel and quarantine plans.

4. Use the iCent app to submit your travel and quarantine details to cq9电子. You can find the form under the Mandatory forms icon.

  • Have a Port of Entry letter of introduction that says you have been approved for a study permit.
  • Enter Canada by air, arriving first at YVR.
